Crawford County is located in West Central Iowa, along the Boyer River. It was named for William Harris Crawford, US Senator from Georgia and United States Secretary of the Treasury.
The seat and largest city are both Dension. It borders Ida, Sac, Carroll, Shelby, Harrison and Monona Counties.
Main highways include US-30, US-59, IA-37, IA-39 and IA-141.
